Facing the "problem of introduction to philosophy" that so concerned Hegel himself, this collective volume aims to serve as an introduction to the study of the Phenomenology of Spirit. But how can one "introduce" oneself to a work that unequivocally declares on its pages that "the truth is the whole"? How can one summarize only a few elements of it, when, for Hegel, they acquire their true meaning only within the overall philosophical exposition?

Responding to the challenge, distinguished Greek and foreign scholars present here the Phenomenology in its main historical and systematic dimensions, even following its structure step by step, with texts that correspond to rough outlines in its own chapters.
Thus, the central concepts and themes of the book are approached interpretively: dialectic, memory, consciousness, self-consciousness, reason, spirit, religion, justice, history, absolute knowledge. The result is a collective endeavor of interpretation and commentary on the "Phenomenology of Spirit", interesting both for the specialist or the apprentice philosopher as well as for the amateur reader of this book-station of Hegelian thought, which constitutes one of the greatest works of modern European philosophy.
