Even the external power supply only provides power to the connected devices and not to the main one. I did not know this, so I made a mistake. Unfortunately, it doesn't do the job. You suspect it from the weight and the quality of construction. You confirm it in practice where if you connect more than 2 devices, some don't work, some work for a little while. By replacing it with a higher quality alternative, these problems don't exist. Bad purchase, avoid it.

It is very good, I have it for about a year. What I don't like is that it is very light and can easily fall, for example when I want to plug or unplug a cable, when I clean. Also, the type c port doesn't work. Other than that, it does its job and is worth the money.

The most important thing in my opinion: in the new version that I received, the external power port is USB-C and not micro! Good change, I believe!

The rating corresponds to a basic function that it cannot support. When you have an external hard drive and you try to connect a second one (for double backup), it disables the first one. It's a bit annoying, especially when there are alternatives in this category that can support up to 3 drives. The cable needs to be adjusted a bit at the beginning. As for the speeds, I didn't notice any difference. The reason it was purchased is because the new macmini models have green screens and they say it's due to WD drives. So I'm running tests to see if this doesn't happen with direct connection.

I plugged in a simple external sound card (not pro), a mouse, a USB Ethernet, and a USB black light, and they all work as they should. I must admit, it's a good product.
