It is one of the biggest wastes of money for me, a USB adapter from the same company provides much more speed and stability than this one.
I bought it because the USB adapters often disconnect, and this one, even though it doesn't disconnect, has much worse performance than those. I use it as both a repeater and a client, and it has the same performance. It doesn't even reach half the speed of the central router in the house, which is 5 meters away.
This is the first product from this company that I rate low.
Stay away, get anything else for the same price, whether it's a USB adapter, another access point, or a network card for the computer.
Very bad access point, I bought it out of necessity and because the store I went to didn't have anything else, and in the end I was not justified. Tx power 15dbm is at least ridiculous, while in Greece we have a legal limit of 22. It is possible that the router provided by the provider has at least the same range. Don't expect more than a day without restarting for stability, especially if more than 2 devices are connected. Also, it is not supported by OpenWRT, so if you want custom firmware to solve these problems, forget it. I bought it as a replacement for a Belkin solely because I thought the range would be better. Very easy installation, good range, what impressed me is that it doesn't lose much in speed. And to be more clear, I have 50 VDSL, with the provider's wired modem I get 50, with wireless I barely got 22 mbps. With other conventional access points, much lower speed. With this specific one, my wifi speed is at 42 mbps.
You just connect it and it works, now if you want to make some configurations, they are very easy to do from the menu.

As I see it, it is plug and play. The only thing initially needed is to connect it to your computer with an Ethernet cable in order to run the quick setup.
It asks for a password to create initially, to access the router... login.

I needed a WiFi repeater for my room (the router is in the living room, 10m away) to connect my provider's IP TV through Ethernet (I have ADSL connection) and also to have better WiFi, so I bought it. It does its job satisfactorily BUT I have noticed that the ping has increased slightly and the speed has decreased somewhat compared to before when I was directly connected to the provider's router. It gave me a little trouble during installation, but I managed to do it in the end...
I bought the product three days ago. The worst thing about it is the repeater!!!!! Constant disconnections. It works relatively well as an access point... but not with a long range.
I have the TP-LINK TL-WA801ND in my possession for about 5 months. After a considerable amount of time living with it, I can say that I have a complete opinion about the product.
Starting with the external design, it has a very beautiful box design, with small dimensions (181 × 125 × 36mm), with two detachable antennas of type RP-SMA connector and 5dBi power each. Of course, because they are detachable, they can be replaced with larger ones for greater coverage. It also has a power emission setting in 3 levels and, of course, wireless function deactivation through its web management environment.
It can be placed on flat surfaces or mounted on a wall as it has a support system.
As for its functionality, it supports the following modes: Access Point, Multi-SSID, Client, Universal/WDS Repeater, Bridge with AP. It can transmit up to 4 different SSIDs and supports WEP/WPA/WPA2, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK data encryption protocols during wireless communication.
The wireless communication protocols it works with are IEEE 802.11b (up to 11Mbps), IEEE 802.11g (up to 54Mbps), and IEEE 802.11n (up to 300Mbps).
Its management is done through a web environment that explains in detail each function and leaves no doubts even for beginners. It is supported by upgrades, but they are not automatic and require user intervention.

Cons: Manual upgrades, when the bandwidth reaches the maximum capabilities of the device, it can freeze and require a reset. It heats up quite a bit during operation.
Καλησπέρα ... έχω πάρει αυτό το ρουτερ αλλά δεν ξέρω πως να το συνδέσω . Το βαζω στο ρεύμα και δεν ανάβουν τα φωτάκια του . Τι κάνω λάθος ; Το πήρα για να το συνδέσω με έναν διακλαδωτη . Αν κάποιος μπορούσε να με βοηθήσει θα το εκτιμούσα .. Ευχαριστώ πολύ ..
Δεν είναι router. Είναι access point. Αν δεν ανάβουν τα λαμπάκια του (και έχει σίγουρα ρεύμα η πρίζα σου), τότε είτε ο μετασχηματιστής είτε η συσκευή έχουν πρόβλημα. Επικοινώνησε με το κατάστημα αγοράς για τον τρόπο αντικατάστασης/επισκευής.
Αν όμως εννοείς τη λειτουργία PoE, τότε έχε υπόψη σου ότι ο διακλαδωτής (φαντάζομαι εννοείς το switch?) θα πρέπει να διαθέτει θύρα PoE και όχι απλή LAN, ώστε να είναι σε θέση να στείλει ηλεκτρική ενέργεια μέσω καλωδίου UTP.
Σκέφτομαι να βάλω ΕΟΝ για απλή τηλεόραση στο δωμάτιο. Το ρούτερ του ίντερνετ είναι όμως στο σαλόνι γιατί εκεί είναι η μοναδική είσοδος τηλεφώνου.
Αν πάρω αυτή τη συσκευή και τη βάλω στο δωμάτιο,μπορώ να βάλω το καλώδιο τηλεφώνου Ethernet που ζητάει το ΕΟΝ στη συσκευή και να παίρνει λήψη μέσω WiFiαπο το ρούτερ; Ελπίζω να τα εξήγησα σωστά γιατί είμαι αρκετά άσχετος.
