Owner of the Seagate Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 External HDD 2TB.
After 3 years, it stopped working, resulting in the loss of a significant amount of personal and work data.
The disk remained on the desk (not moved) and when it was not in use, it was unplugged. I tried connecting it to other computers and using different power supplies and USB cables, but there was no response.

From the second day (Windows 10 environment), it started freezing as soon as I tried to visit it from Windows Explorer and required the program to be restarted 2-3 times before it worked. After about a month, it started disconnecting on its own every 5-10 minutes and then reconnecting on its own. Probably garbage.

Exceptional and durable, personally I have never lost a Seagate hard drive and I always trust it.

I took the first one out of its box and put it in the NAS. I have the second one as an external backup for the NAS, with a smart plug that only turns on when it's time to take a backup and then turns off. So far, I have no complaints. The disk inside it is 5400rpm, which doesn't make it fast, but for backup and archiving at €125/piece, which I got on offer, it's great!

I just transferred all my files, 3.5tb, and I hadn't kept any backups for some serious ones. The disk failed, and it was the disk itself, not its circuits, because I opened it and put it in machines with special software. Unacceptable, and of course the warranty doesn't cover me because I opened it to put it in my own case in order to save my files.

Very good in both capacity and durability. In complete silence, it may sound a little, but nothing terrible or annoying enough to deter someone from buying it.

It is the third same hard drive that I am buying (I have had the other 2 for a year and they are fine). I use them for storing videos and photos for my work. So far, I am very satisfied.

I have it for a year, I use it for backing up my files. I connect it to a USB 2.0 port and its speed is around 15 mb, unfortunately I don't have USB 3.0 to give you impressions but even so, I am satisfied. Its noise is imperceptible and its quality is satisfactory. When transferring data for a long time, it heats up but within normal limits, the power and data cables are long enough. It works flawlessly, it doesn't freeze and at the current price of 98 euros compared to the 140 I bought it for, I have to say it's worth it without a second thought.

I have it exclusively for high-quality movies and bit transmission. Each movie is 10 to 15 gigabytes.
It plays flawlessly, and the transfer speed is consistently over 150 MB per second via USB 3.0.
I have both the 3TB and because I was satisfied, I also got the 4TB. When it fills up, I will get the 5TB or the 6TB. I think it's the best solution at the best price.

I have one and only one! And I have it only for backup and I can say that it is very good and it is doing great.
Except for the fact that it is not completely silent, so far it is perfect in everything.
The only thing I would like it to have is an ON/OFF button.

Excellent choice for backup use, personally I use it as a Time Machine for two Macintosh devices and so far I have no complaints. The USB 3.0 is very fast, the disk is almost silent, it doesn't reach worrying temperatures, and its undoubtedly positive aspect is its very elegant design, for those who care about the appearance of their workspace. In conclusion, and because there are many rumors about Seagate, I have trusted it in other cases as well, and just like those, so far so good.
